March 2026 Temple Focus
South Weber Utah Stake
Vision
As a stake, we invite every ward to help members feel the joy and power of temple covenants during March and April by increasing participation in temple and family history work — in ways that fit each ward’s needs and circumstances.
President Russell M. Nelson said:
“Nothing will help you more to hold fast to the iron rod than worshipping in the temple as regularly as your circumstances permit. Nothing will protect you more as you encounter the world’s mists of darkness. Nothing will bolster your testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Atonement or help you understand God’s magnificent plan more. Nothing will soothe your spirit more during times of pain. Nothing will open the heavens more. Nothing!”
Stake Invitation
“Essential to our doctrine on the family is the temple…The ordinances received there enable us to return as eternal families to the presence of our Heavenly Father.”
— President Dallin H. Oaks, October 2025 General Conference
Each ward is encouraged to prayerfully discuss this invitation in ward council and with temple and family history leaders. From that discussion, each ward can create its own Temple Focus Plan — simple, uplifting, and tailored to local participation and capacity.
Purpose
Strengthen faith in Jesus Christ through temple worship and preparation. Encourage consistent, joyful temple participation that builds eternal families across the stake. Measure spiritual momentum, not temple attendance numbers.
Suggested Areas of Focus for Wards
Wards may choose any or all of the following ideas, or create their own inspired plan:
- Invite members to attend the temple regularly during March.
- Encourage families and youth to prepare and take family names.
- Hold a ward temple night or youth temple activity.
- Review the ward’s monthly Family History Activity Report and consider ways to improve family history participation.
- Promote FamilySearch participation:
- Attach a source (Record Hints)
- Get Involved (Quick Name Review, Full Name Review, Verify Places)
- Memories (Attach a memory, tag persons)
- AI Tools (AI Research Assistant)
- Activities (Surname Origins, Famous Relatives, Compare-a-Face, etc.)
- Family Ordinance Opportunities (Take a name to the temple)
- Encourage members to participate in the Church-wide RootsTech Conference (in person March 5-7 or online at rootstech.org) and stake events – such as the stake Relief Society Women’s Conference and Youth Conference – with a focus on temple and family connections.
- For your ward, create a simple temple display (like a paper temple poster) to visualize progress and faith – without tracking temple attendance numbers.
- Encourage families to set and accomplish their own specific Temple and Family History goals.
- Invite members to write down or share the impressions they felt in the temple and one specific action they will take to remain close to the Spirit they felt there.
